Is this correct? Flat emblem hardware

So I finally got around to putting on the flat emblem this weekend (its been sitting in a box for months) and I feel like I lost a piece of hardware.

Below is a picture of the items I have (nut+plastic tips excluded).

Is this all that should've been included?

The gaping hole in the hood (after removing the upright emblem) only leaves about a quarter inch around the perimeter to stick to the emblem (if using doublestick tape). I tried this using some foam tape and it didn't feel secure (so I put the upright back).

The metal adaptor piece doesn't seem to have any purpose- is this right? The emblem fits in to it, but the metal adaptor itself doesn't secure in to the hood.

What the dealy?

It seems like you almost have evrything except for the screws. My set up fits perfectly fine, nothing seems loose.

What it appears to me that you may be missing, is a set of white plastic narrow "washers" which fasten around the plastic prongs from the flat emblem underneath the hood and between the gap between the metal holder and the flat emblem. If this is the case, and that is what you are missing, it isn't too major of a concern. I actually had the pieces but lost them in my garage while securing the emblem. I ran down to Home Depot and they had equivalent plastic washers with approximately equal diameters.

I actually have plastic washers as well, but I guess this is the thing:

Is the metal adaptor supposed to be installed on the underside of the hood, with the emblem on the top-side of the hood?

I tried it briefly, but it seemed like it couldn't fit from the underside. From the top-side of the hood, the metal adaptor has nothing to stick to, as the hole in the hood is too big for the metal adaptor + nut be held in place. It basically just sits in the hood, not attached to anything.

That's why I thought there was another piece I was missing- possibly something to attach to the underside of the hood?

you're missing the piece that clamps to the underside of the hood. It's black, about an inch long and metal.
