i'm on probation for another 2 weeks or so. Can't really discuss the reasons why, but if you followed any of the threads i started , you would see that there was an idiot who was "stalking" me.....that's all i can say w/o violating my terms and conditions of probation...LOL.

Anyways, I raced a 95 M3 last night. The car was completely stock, except for 18" rims, body kit, and the dinan EPROM upgrade. My car also has a body kit and 19" rims, so i figured this would be a pretty good race. The M3 took me off the launch because he had a stick shift car. But from 60-95, i pretty much caught up to him and he was about 3/4 car length in front of me. We stayed like that until 110...that's when we both let off.

So i think with some minor mods, we can definitely make our w208's faster than the M3's. (intake, super chip, exhaust , and pulleys should do it )

looking at what you said, i think the 2 of you should finish side-by-side...

reason is because, your mods slow you down... 19s are so much heavier than 18s... that is enough to give the M3 the edge...

Um, Josh, you're driving a 320 with all kinds of mods, and we still don't believe you, as all of us with 430's agree that the 36 takes us. If you believe you really beat the m36, than I have a bridge for sale...

Here's one for you. You tell me how our 430's can beat M36 when in fact, I had a hard time shakin a 330ci? So I don't know about you guys sayin' you can beat an older M36, not buying it, and believe me, if any one can drive, I have been told I can. I have gone up against buddies of mine with M5's, AMG's, now I can try and hang, but can't match their power. So point being, I just don't believe that our 430's can match the linear speed of the M36 nor the handling capabilities of any 3 series BMW.

For the record a 2000 330ci has 231 HP, 0-60 in 6.7 and 1/4 mile 15.1, it's more a competitor for the CLK320.

Exactly, so explain to me how if that can keep up with my CLK430, then how is the M36 is so easily beaten? If the E36 has 240 HP how can it be so much greater than the 330ci? My point is if the 330ci is more inline with the 320, which I believe it may be, you're telling me that the 430 is that much faster and that much more powerful, that even though every stat says it is one second slower than a E36, that i can beat a 95 M3 no problem?

And for that matter the 01 CLK55 is only mildly faster than a 95 M3. Midly. 6-7 tenths of a second faster, whats that, half a car length to a full car length. So all you fakers who keep sayin' your 430 is beating E36's off the line and in straights, you need to find better drivers to run against, cause I have a feeling that if you gave them a ferrari, they still wouldn't beat you, an indication of how bad they are..

From all the post ive seen you made complaining about your clk, I wouldnt be so hasty as to use yours as a benchmark for all clk430's. I would be more inclined to view yours as closer to a Lemon...
Ive raced stick 330's and I always get them by 1.5 cars to 60 and they never catch up after that.. ITs just not close.EVER ...

The stock CLK430 has 275 HP that's 35 HP more than the E36 M3 and also has a ton of torque more due to the fact that it's a V-8. Tha's enough to beat an E36. Now I don't know if you've ever raced, but I use to race motocross in the 250 cc category, and all bikes have approx. the same HP, I use to take off and in the middle of the race I am already catching up the last competitor sometimes I'll even catch him twice before the race is over, and beleive he is trying to go as fast as he can. It definitelly matters how good you are, but if we go by what you are saying, the CLK320 should beat the 430.... and it could....it all depends who's behind the wheel.

actually it is 62 ft if both cars are going 60 mph.....but in a race, when the faster car is 6-7 tenths faster, the gap would be closer to 95 ft...8 car lengths.

That is not what I am saying at all. What I am saying is that the E36 is faster, more nimble and definitely more capable than the 430. As far as the CLK55 goes, it better damn well beat a 10 year old car, otherwise, I'll go get the 20k+ used 95 M3, and run circles around the 01 CLK55.

Riddle me this, why is it that a few of you insist that the 430 is sooo much faster than the E36 M3, when in fact all the number, all the stats, and ALL of the data say it is not. Now I would have to tend to believe Professional Car Magazines, who use PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS over guys on a forum who don't drive for a living. No offense, but I just don't believe the hype.

As far as my car is concerned it is a piece, but its not the engine or tranny I have had problems with. And 1 car length is not that far off.

SO POINT BEING, cause everyone here seems to ALWAYS miss the point, if your driving a 430, and beating a 330ci, which is also a FULL second slower than a 95 M3, and by STEPH's CALCULATIONS, all you posers who say you are beating M3's should really be getting beat by 9-10 car lengths if the stats all say the 95 M3 is 1 full second faster than the 430's. Going by stats and numbers isn't that correct? Sometimes I think this forum is full of people who don't really know what they are talking about, and I will admit, I certainly have had to humble my own opinion, however if ALL the numbers on ALL the sites say the M3 is 1 second faster than the 430, than everyone who says they are beating them hands down, is full of CRAP!

Here's another one for you. My buddy 5439cc and I went and picked up my soon to be new FX45, and raced each other light to light and DAMN! The FX smoked my a$$. The FX is 0-60 in 6.1, and DAMN!

Again, point being if the FX is 0-60 in 6.1 and smoked my a$$, how is it that the M3 E36 is 0-60 in 5.5 and the guys here are beatin them "hands down" with their super duper 430's, c'mon!
