EC light - AC Compressor

EC light - AC Compressor
my AC compressor won't engage because the EC light is on. Do you know how to reset the EC light, so the AC compressor will work. I've gotten it to work in the past, the compressor is fine. Please advise. Thank you.

Plutoe is right - put the AC in diagnostics mode and post the codes.

2000 S430L, BMW 530i
ignition on, make sure AC system is turned on (EC light will be lit)
Switch off ignition, for say 10 seconds
Switch ignition back on, AC system comes on and this time press the EC button. Light should go out, start you engine and your AC should operate, assuming it is ok as you say.
