Blown Rear-end

I think my 01 CLK-430 blew the rear-end today on the way to work

I will know for sure tomorrow morning when the dealer opens her up.

Last week they did over 3k worth of warranty work and now this! And she only has 18003 miles and ive only had her for three weeks!

I hope to hell I didnt buy a lemon!

What do you mean by 'blew the rear-end'??? blew out a tire? muffler?

sorry to say it, but, sometimes, SHlT HAPPENS.... its the path we are given, unfortunately...

hope its nothing serious and the warranty covers it

Just got her back tonight. Between the rear-diff and the instrument cluster it was 3100.00!!! Thats makes over 6k in warranty work in two weeks! Thank God for warranties!

My guess is that the previous owner may have abused the car. The occasional autocross or drag day is not going to hurt your car. Extended track sessions on the other hand are murderous on brakes, diffs, suspension and transmissions....not to mention tires.

Smokey, 60-second burnouts or trying Dukes of Hazard J-turns WILL MOST certainly shorten the life of the car.

Now that you have her.....get her fixed right and take care of her.

this may be a design or manufacturing defect; I just had the first 10,000 mile sevice and the dealer noted a leaking rear diff.

They repaired the leak before any damage was done.
Everyone should keep a watch out for this problem

A leaking rear diff is common, a complete diff failure is not. These cars have very strong differentials, probably the toughest part of the whole drivetrain. Somebody must have seriously beaten the snot out of it.
