Question 430 to 500 Engine swap

Do I need to change the computer or any of the settings to upgrade the engine from a 430 to a 500 (or bigger, even, like a 6.3)? A car guy I know told me that I 'might be able' to swap DOWN to a 320, but he wasnt sure about UP. I would think it to be easy to go from an 8cyl to an 8cyl engine. Anybody?

I'm not desperate: Just curious. My car runs fine, thank you.

ME 2.8 was introduced in 2001, so your car's electronics will support a 500 or 55, but the OE ECU isn't equipped to support the variable valve timing in the 63 or 550. Also, if you get a 500 or a 55, you'll have to use an oil pan designed for a W208. That means you'll need an oil pump with a pickup designed for a W208 style pan. No, your 430 pump won't bolt to a 500 or 55 block. A dealer can order the correct pump for $505 retail, but you'll have to tell them the part number. There are threads that cover this issue.
