Mercedes Upshift Delay System of 722.6
Hello,
Gregory
I am a new owner of Mercedes CLK W208 320. This model is with the automatic gearbox 722.6.
The previous owner has removed the catalysts but he hasn't disable Upshift Delay System for the rapid heating of catalysts.
I've found an article in Gears Magazine (Aug 2006) written by J. Weldon Barnett - "Late Upshift (Sometimes) = Normal Mercedes".
I've been looking for the next part of this article "Vacuum Type Upshift Delay System" but I haven't found anything about upshift delay system of 722.6.
Is any article about the Upshift Delay System of automatic gearbox 722.6 ?
I would be grateful for helping me.

It is normal for many Benz models. The engine performance improves dramatically once operating temps are satisfied.
A cast iron sleeved engine suffers much cylinder wear until a 190^ window is reached and all reciprocating parts are the same temp. cats have only a little to do with this programming.
my 2 cents.
