The look of the car when you use stggered wheels is so much nicer, plus you'll be able to use 245/40 in the back and get better performance. If you haven't bought the wheels, that's the route I'd go. Here's a useful link that shows what you can and can't use. I was on it all the time before I got a hold of my wheels. Take a look here for the W208 CLK for what fits.

I went with a set of AMG Type I but later changed to a set of AMG Type IV both in 17 inch, both staggered 7.5 up front 8.5 in the rear.
