Question Panama City.... new MB owner

Just bought a well cared for CLK 32O from 2002.
The top reportedly was working fine but then would go down.
'He got the top to shut but now won't open'
The windows go down when roof hatch is disengaged.
The rear head rest are down and havent moved since I started trying.
The latch glows red when I try lift to open and nothing happens.
I have manually worked the top using the allen and accessory tools.
Securing top back aft manual use is not an issue.

Reading... seems the relay could be the issue.
Where is best place to buy a quality replacement relay?
Part number and cost if anyone knows.

I see the fuel pump relay is the same in some posts... should I pick up an extra relay for safety sake?

Thanks for your help.

Hopefully, the hydraulic pump relay is your problem, because it's commonly available at auto supply stores (e.g. same relay as used by the fuel pump) and inexpensive (less than $10).

You can test, if it's the problem, by temporary using your fuel pump relay in place of roof relay.

Don't forget to turn the pressure relief screw back, to restore full system pressure, before trying to operate the power roof.

The OE relay, part # 0025427219, is made by Hella and the OEM replacement is available at:

When the lamp in the roof's operating switch remains lit or flashes, it's providing some basic diagnostic fault information and the details are explained in your owner's manual.

The included thumbnail also provides the the details.
