Strange noises from Front Wheels - unexplained
Good afternoon.
I Have a 230k CLK convertible (2001) which has recently developed an irritating whirring noise which appears to come from the front wheels. I can only describe this as a whirring noise in line with the rotation of the front wheel.
At first I thought it could be the front bearings. So I had them changed. Sound remained. So decided I'd change the front pads and discs. Sound remained.
I had a look around the braking system and nothing seems to be making contact with anything it shouldn't, and for the life of me I can't work out what is causing this annoying noise.
The noise is only evident at slower speeds or when pulling off from a stop. At speed it can't be heard .
Any ideas before it drives me mad
Thank you in advance
