I have a 2000 clk 320 and the driver door will not open with the outside door handle

The handle might just have slipped off the mechanism somehow.

my '99 (W208) driver door will not open with the outside door either (interior handle works fine). I have to use the metal key from remote to lower window and open the door from the inside door latch.
Took the outside door handle off the "mechanism" handle was correctly behind the Mechanism (around 2:40 in video above).

I sprayed grease into (outside) door handle as suggested here, it opened the door. However, it stopped again the next day, this happened a few days in a row.
The "mechanism" seems to be the problem. Does anyone know if that's the assembly or something else?
