CLK 230 A208- Starting intermittent fault
Hi folks, I am in need of help and would be obliged to you for any help.
My 2001 CLK 230 has developed an intermittent fault.Sometimes when I turn the ignition key I just get a Click, all lights are on with no fault being indicated, other times its starts just great. I have fitted a new battery as I was told that MBs are susceptible to slight drops in Voltage. If you can suggest a solution or offer a wiring diagram I would be very grateful.

Check you ground cable on the battery. Mine was internally corroded (filled with green dust). I had the exact same symptoms as you and they disappeared when I replaced the ground cable. Simple $8, 5 minute job. Remember to sand the metal after removing the old cable.

Check out potential connection issues, at the positive battery post, as well. Note that the main clamp splits out into separate 3 cables, supplying the various electrical systems.
