I did some looking and there is an OBDII under the dash but that is for emission only? there is a 38 pin round plug in the engine compartment.


which location do i use to pull the codes out and which tool do i use?

i can find a lot of Icarsoft but those are for 2000 and up. so i am guessing i need a code reader for the 38 pin right? which model do i buy?

I bought Launch CReader 8011 specially to read ABS codes on my Mercedes Benz vehicle. I like that it comes with the storage case, USB cable and micro SD card to transfer data. I picked up a bluetooth OBD2 dongle from amazon around -12 clears codes in seconds..To get into serious diagnostics a C3/C4 reader must be used on http://www.uobdii.com/ the 38 pin connector by the ECU.

You just need an OBD2 bluetooth with 38pin cable adaptor, then downloard Torque app on your phone, simple. !
