99 clk 320 W208 code reader? OBDII or 38 PIN
I did some looking and there is an OBDII under the dash but that is for emission only? there is a 38 pin round plug in the engine compartment.
which location do i use to pull the codes out and which tool do i use?
i can find a lot of Icarsoft but those are for 2000 and up. so i am guessing i need a code reader for the 38 pin right? which model do i buy?

I bought Launch CReader 8011 specially to read ABS codes on my Mercedes Benz vehicle. I like that it comes with the storage case, USB cable and micro SD card to transfer data. It was amazing when I use it at the first time. Cleared the ABS code and gave me lots of data about my vehicle with the large and clear display. Moreover, it supports oil and epb reset,I was impressed with the product function.It may help you.

I picked up a bluetooth OBD2 dongle from amazon around -12 clears codes in seconds..To get into serious diagnostics a C3/C4 reader must be used on http://www.uobdii.com/ the 38 pin connector by the ECU.

You just need an OBD2 bluetooth with 38pin cable adaptor, then downloard Torque app on your phone, simple. !
