Installing a Comand unit
Would a comand unit from a 2001 CLK hook up in a 2000 CLK? Would I need extra wires or would the unit plug into my wires? I have the basic MB head unit. The comand unit part number is 208 820 35 89 80.
Thanks for any help.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but I do not believe there is and difference between the '00 and '01 Command Units. However, if you car did not come with Command originally, there is some rewiring that needs to be done.
There are many on this board that know alot more, so I'm sure you'll get a more detailed response.
Also, you might try doing a search on 'Command Install' and follow some of the past threads on the subject, which can be very helpful.
Lastly, you might want to check this site out:

Yes, the Comand Unit will work, but you are going to need to do some wiring. Check out these links:

After doing some research, I did a self install several months ago - and it wasn't that difficult. The toughest part is finding the Speed Sensor wire and tapping into it. I got the parts from Steve (referenced in the previous post from MMGrad). He might be willing to sell you the wiring harness, GPS antennae, etc. Otherwise, you can buy this stuff at your local MB stealer. The first link has some part numbers.
Good luck....
