I have a 2002 CLK55 AMG cab. I like it but recently looked at a 2002 CL500 Coupe. I was thinking of making the change because I like the unique badass look of the coupe and it has brand new 19 inch AMG wheels and rubber. I think my convertible is in somewhat better condition (looks mint except for some roof chafing) but basically the cars have similar mileage. I figure my convertible is worth about $10,000 but I can get the coupe for $5,500 saftied. The convertible has a 100,000 miles and the coupe has 85,000 miles. It had the air shocks replaced with conventional Springs and I am fine with that, at least I don't have to worry about spending $6,000 to repair the suspension. The coupe needs some various interior plastic pieces fixed or replaced, but I am quite handy at doing that sort of stuff. Both cars have good leather and strong engines.

Driving with the top down is always more fun of course but I'm thinking my conv top might need replacement in three or four years. I could just drive the convertible for a couple of years and pretty well sell it for what I've got into it, or go for for the coupe. Does anybody have any eniightening remarks? I know I am in the CLK forum so a lot of people will probably have a bias towards the CLK...

I thought I should mention, I looked at a lot of these vehicles, both of them the CLK's and the CL's and for some reason the CLK interiors appear to be better built, the Interiors seem to be less plasticky than the CL coupes...

CL maintenance is much more then CLK, but they are some of the best look MBs on the road!
