Winter driving
Love my CLK 320, but it is at best useless in the snow, and at worst scary. I used to switch to my trusty minivan when the weather got bad, but it finally gave up the ghost. So, that leaves me facing this New York winter in the Benz. Any recommendations on winter tires? Studded? Any other hints?

I have a set of 16" rims for the winter with 205 55/16 Bridgestone Blizzaks. With a full set front rear and starting in Winter mode if it's sloppy outside I had no problems. I wouldn't call any car with a full set of quality winter tires "scary" to drive. That's a term I'd reserve for all season tires you've had on the car for two years.

Just a set of all season tires on it now, and believe me scary is the word with them. Cindy, I'm really trying to avoid taking the bus!

2001 CLK 55 AMG
Drove my CLK 55 AMG this winter for the first time and it really wasn't all that bad. Had a good set of snows and just knew my limits. Use to complain to my paps about winter driving with RWD and he just laughed in my face and asked me what I thought people did before FWD and AWD
