W211 E55 Motor Mounts on W208 CLK55?

Has anybody ever used the motor mounts from a W211 E55 on the 208 CLK55? I have read that the W209 mounts are stronger than the W208 version, so my intent was to use those, but I accidentally ordered the Lemforder P/N 2607601 instead of 2240701. The only difference seems to be the missing silicone heat shield on the 2607601 part number.

The thing is, I didn't even realize I ordered the wrong part number until after I finished installing them! They bolt right in so I guess they should work fine, maybe even better since they are designed to work with the 516 ft-lb of torque generated by the M113k.

Anyway, if you want to read my writeup on the whole process, it's here: https://stumptownbenz.com/2018/01/17...t-replacement/

Yes they work better. I also had billet CNC/polyurethane mounts made for anyone that wants to take it to the next level

I saw those sexy things on your Facebook post! I’ll considrr them if I break these.

Off topic; have you spoken to Alex lately? I bought his rear subframe and he said I should ask you about solid
mounts.

Thanks!

Alex is a good guy. You're looking for solid subframe bushings? I ran polyurethane ones in my clk55. I have to dig up where I got them. It's been a while

He thought you had solid mounts, but poly is better than rubber. Do you still have the CLK? I’ll be gunning for your record in a couple years ;-)

Not solid. Polyurethane. No I don't have the CLK anymore. I have a 209 CLK55 and 204 supercharged C63. Awesome! Let me know if you need any help on the way. I should've pushed that car farther. There was alot left in it.

Do you remember where you got those poly subframe bushings? I see a place called hedgehog racing on Facebook but that's about all I can find.

If you want to follow along with my build check out the blog I'm doing for it at StumptownBenz.com. I'm sure there's a lot I can learn from you. In fact, I already have whether you know it or not. I've been researching this car a lot for the past 9 months and you, GatorMB and 2Precise (Alex) have come up in my searches a lot! I already owe you guys a ton of gratitude.

I believe that's who I got them from! Sounds familiar. He's in Asia right? It's been so long I forget.

Awesome. Glad I can help. Both those guys are good too. Let me know if I can help with your build 👍

Why not get the solid mounts?

You can also fill your own...

I'm turned off by the potential for increased vibration.

Naw it's not bad man. Like yeah a tiny bit but I drive my W211 with poly mounts and it's definitely not noticeable, at first I could tell the difference but now a few months later it's not a big deal at all. The big thing is that it's maintenance free.
