Spare
When i purchased my '99 430 used, i didn't realize the %#@* dealer had boosted the spare tire/wheel. I'm having a tough time finding a replacement.
Any suggestions?

Anyone know if there are issues with using spare from a 320 on a 430 with the AMG package? I would imagine lug spacing and offset are the same but it might be a little short height-wise...

"Go to EBAY and look for a replacement, type in CLK and look for a wheel like yours. I have had good luck finding extra wheels for mine at a fraction of the dealer cost.

I wasn't sure if a full size spare would fit in the trunk for a '99 CLK.

The spare tire/wheel is an integral part of the CLK's cabin safety in the event of a rear-end collision. Selling a CLK without a spare tire is like selling a car without seatbelts. Tell the dealer you'll sue his *** off for selling you an unsafe car.
To save weight, I took my spare out until I learned that it's part of the safety system. In the event of an accident, an insurance company could deny your claim if they suspect you were negligent by removing the spare.
