Wacky Climate control
This 2000 CLK is starting to get on my nerves - now out of warranty about a week and almost no miles and things start popping up. First the fuel tank sensors (which they honored) and now this, whats next?
The auto climate control seems to be acting up (maybe) or its something else. When the system is in AUTO mode (both sides) the system seems to be working then you hear a whistle noise and the blower seems to go up and down on its own - still cooling and the LCD display is fine - showing a constant LCD for the fan setting and everything seems visually normal. Placed the system in manual mode and the fan seems constant with no whistle noise - can raise and lower the fan setting no problem. What is a little strange is that if you raise or lower the temperature to either LO or a low temp value the system doesn't seem to be responsive it will either do what is asked or it won't and then on its own it will kick the fan on full blast for a minute then drop off completely to a very low setting - normally it would do this gradually as the cabin temp falls.
Any idea what to look for before sending it in and if I had to replace the control any decent places for parts?
