Center vent removal

Does anyone know of a video / link that shows how to replace the center vent? I found some old threads which mention it but are not very descriptive.

just did yesterday but no video
gently pry rectangle climate controls units out...there are 2 large wire harnesses attached to climate control..there are sliding retainer clips holding them in place,,,remove and then the harness can pull off.

you will expose a plastic box that the upper controls slid into....remove 2 small screws to remove box.

There are 2 screws exposed on left and right...remove...this gives you wiggle room to pull the round plastic trim away from dash.
At this point, you can just tug on the entire vent and it will pull out.

Saying all this...When I got it out, there still was no air coming into my center console...no matter what I did with the actual vent. I still have to find where the flap that controls the air to the center vent space resides.....UPDATE...found a broken connector at the vacuum reservoir inside the right side front fender.....that should help after fix...I'll keep you posted

Thanks, I will give it a try. I don't have a flow problem, somewhere along the line the slider got broken. I am looking to replace the vent.

Maybe I am missing something, I don't see any screws. Do I need to get the wood off first? And of course I need to ask, how do I get it off without breaking it? Here is a picture of my dash.

It is held by spring like tabs...basically just friction held...nothing to unscrew...use a thin butter knife or something similar...once you can lift a corner, you can just work your way around.Seeing your picture, you should have no trouble getting it off because you have exposed all that area where climate control was...gently pull from there.

Swapped the vents, nothing broke and everything still works. . I can see where this will be a lot easier the second time.
