1999 CLK320 W208 No Crank No Start
I have had my CLK320 for 4 years now and it has been very reliable. Everything still functions and my wife loves to drive it. But...this issue is testing my patience. I have reviewed many of the posts here with the same issue I have.
Here goes...
Wife calls me at about 4:30pm and says the car won't start. It's 95 degrees. All the dash lights are on like normal, car just won't turn over. I jump it from my truck, still no crank. Locked it up overnight at her work and went home. The next morning It's 70 degrees and the car fires up like normal and I take the car home. I left it on the driveway til it got hot outside and it wouldn't crank. The next morning It's 70 degrees and the car fires up like normal.
At this point from past experience, I was leaning toward a starter. I came in and I replaced it....what a joy. Anyway, replacing the starter didn't correct the issue. I had looked through the threads here and went ahead and replaced the 2 relays; one on the K40 module and one (Fuel pump) in the trunk by the battery. No change. Next I replaced the CPS. I know my symptoms didn't point to it being faulty. No change. My battery is 3 years old and sitting at 12.48VDC.
Could it be the interior temperature heating something up? Ignition switch? Gear selector?
I tried a different key and tried to start in N and P with no change.
Any guidance would be great!

Cindyclk, Yes everything turns on like normal. The headlights don't dim when the key is turned to Start.
Yesterday morning it started fine. I left it on the driveway during the mid-day heat and the issue came back, no crank no start.

w208 won't start
I have the same problem with my CLK 200 compressor. Two days in a row, I start normally and drive. When I switch it off to go buy something, I came back and won't fire at all. I called a towing truck and parked it next to my mechanic and the next day, it started normally.
