Doube din in 1999CLK320?
Hi guys,
Very new to this forum, but I did have a good bit of looking around and I could seem to find any information on installing a doubledin stereo into a 1999 CLK320. Even with removing the stock radio+the little storage unit, you have a little black plastic separator. Is there a way to remove this to throw a nice touchscreen stereo in there? I haven't been able to see a way of removing it.
Thanks all!

Awesome, thanks a ton for the info mate. I would prefer to do it DIY so I will likely go with a wiring harness. I take it you had to cut out the plastic separator?
Also, did your stereo fit perfectly or did you need to buy a facekit thing?

Not exactly. The only thing I had to hardwire was the 12v+ for the switched, the amp power and the 12v constant and instead of using a jumper off of the ignition fir the switched i tapped in to my cigarette lighter for switched power because its much more convenient. Its a pink and green wire if i remember correctly. As per the dash kit i purchased one at Bestbuy when I bought the head unit.

Hello everyone, new to the forum
I just bought a 2000 CLK and have been searching various sites trying to find information about buying a double din kit to support the installation of a double din aftermarket stereo.
So far I've only been able to find a higher end kit for around $200 that is designed to support the installation of a double din in my car.
Much appreciated if someone could point me to a metra or otherwise affordable double din installation kit that works.

I'm in the midst of another upgrade. I installed an Alpine iLX-207 in a W208 this week. The iLX-207 is a double DIN and no "kit" is needed. It simply fits the hole left by the single DIN and the sleeve. Although I hate cutting anything, I did have to trim the divider to make room for the monitor. The iLX-207 is a fixed double DIN touch screen attached to a single DIN base unit.
Like the old Alpine I replaced, all the original Mercedes features work - the steering wheel controls work and the PAC audio Bose converter is in place. This new unit adds Android Auto and a rear view camera.
