When is it time to get new brakes for a 430?

I have an 02 430. It currently has 28,000 miles on it. If I recall, I got new brakes on my 00 430 about every 30,000 miles? Should I do the same with my 02?

CLK owners, does that seem right? There are no service lights on or anything?

When is everyone replacing their brakes? Thanks. CM

How often you replace your brakes depends on your driving style. Wait till the low pad warning comes on, unless you notice a degradation in braking performance.

just wait for the light to come one... if ur driving style is the same between the '00 & the '02, the brakes will last about the same...

Mine lasted for 31,000 miles... just swapped it out this past weekend for the C32 AMG brake kit... very nice... much lower brake dust too

mmgrad,

May I ask where you got your C32 kit? I just missed the one for sale one this board. I believe my rotors are getting thin and am going to start searching now for a set for replacement. Also, what are your thoughts on the performance difference between the the stock and C32 setup?

Thank you!

I originally bought this kit for my wife's C320, however, I sold my stock 17s, and the brakes would clear her 16s... so, it went to me instead.

I bought mine from evosport quite a while back... I'm thinking, around November or December of last year. Price was about $595+tax (about $642 total).

My buddy's shop did the install (last weekend), so the charge was nada. They do good work, and if you are around the San Gabriel Valley, I'll send you that way...

I would guess, a typical brake install would run about $100-125.

I've only had the brakes for about 200 miles, so I haven't had the chance to really test it out, but it feels very firm. But, I know people who've had this kit for thousands of miles, and they feel no fade or anything.... very strong

I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to upgrade if under a budget...
