Enginge Compartment Pics

Can anyone show me some pics of a CLK430 engine compartment?

I recently examined my engine and noticed the two air intakes sit just under the engine cover. There doesn't seem to be too much protection if water or any other debris from flying in. I can literally see the yellow filter from just looking down. Is this right?

easiest way is to go to ebay and check... there are tons of pictures of the engine compartment...

if you need a more specific angle, i'm sure someone here on the forum, or I, could help take a snapshot for you...

What you see is exactly how it is. The only thing that protects from water is the closed slots in the grill directly in front of the intake inlets.

No. If you look at the path of the air, it has to go up through the air filters before it enters the intake plenum. The sheer weight of anything other than air will keep it from entering the plenum (not to mention the air filter). And you don't have to worry about rain hydrolocking your engine. By the time you were driving through water deep enough to do that you'd have other problems lol
