Hey guys!
Got an old CLK 230 with the malfunctioning roof. Yeah, strange choice, but anyhow. So, when I pull the button, I hear one click from relay and ofter couple of sec it starts blinking. Nothing else happens. Looks like the pump is working, since the rear headrests go up and down perfectly. But when I manually open the lid of a roof compartment it doesn`t hold itself, falling down, and it does not depends on the position of the pressure release screw in the pump. What would you recommend, where to look at? Already read a lot of faqs, also from Top Hydraulics, but didn`t find a clue.
Replies like "Just burn it" would not be taken into account

The lamp in the power roof operating switch provides some basic fault diagnostic information.
See post #208 here , for more details.
Then review the stages of roof operation, when opening the roof vs. the required position/limit switch actuations, shown in post #213, to further troubleshoot and repair.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Well, that has been a while. In the meantime I added some fluid to the max level, checked the switches in the locking cylinders () as well as both rollbar switches (S83/5 and /6) with ohmmeter, but still have concerns about S84/15, checked it only visually.
But now the roof works... I mean, doesn‘t work in a bit different way.
1. I open the latch over the head, windows go down, I pull the S84 switch, nothing happens, it starts to blink slowly.
2. If I open the rear bow lock manually in advance (the one with the inbus) and perform the previous scenario, the rear bow goes up and then nothing happens. I don‘t hear the pump anymore and the bow cover doesn‘t try to unlock.
2.1. If I start to press the S84 at this stage, rear bow closes and locks perfectly.
3. If I, in addition to unlocking the rear bow, unlock also the bow cover, and continue pulling the switch up, looks like the rear bow cover is being pushed down and closes the cover lock, instead of lifting up. Or even the pressure starts to move down the headrests, not completely sure about it.
Also, during normal driving the S84 is lightning, but quite dimmed, not that bright like with the unlocked roof (by the latch).
Rear headrest switch blinks 14 times after turning the ignition on, rear headrests work perfectly.
Does it look like the problem is in S84/15?
