2001 CLK 430 convertible
Convertible Control Module
So, mechanic says my convertible control module needs replacing. (yes I believe him and have gone through everything, so that is the issue).
My Question is: if I get a module out of my exact same car (2002, CLK 430 convertible), do I have to have the unit reprogrammed or is it simply a plug and play?

CONVERTIBLE ROOF ECU A2088201126.
If this is the beastie that you're talking about then it should be plug and play. When I replaced it on my convertible, the power roof worked in exactly the same way as it did before the replacement.

I have just changed the ECU on mine the important bit is the part number MUST match Mine was the A2088203026.
Serndipty is the genius on roofs on here he was a great help to me on some models there are 5 solenoids on the pump and some have 7, so there are different modules.
If you go to benzcat.com and put in your vin it will tell u what equipment etc should be on the car.

Does the module need to be programmed in 2003 sl500 if replaced with different one or no?
