Service B

The dealer should have the prices posted around the service desk (they do around here anyway). If your warranty is up, they will make you pay for it... otherwise it's covered (for now...
)How's your warranty up at 30K?

what does the Service B cost?

So.,.,. What will they do with service A?
I still have warranty.,.,
if not.,,. how much will they charge in a normal DEALER.,
Anyone out there get their tranmission filter and fluid changed before the recommended 100K miles? I'm pondering doing this at 60K miles as I'd like to see my transmission last.

Even paying for it, I can drop it off on a Saturday morning, head on out to the bank, or to the park, or whereever, instead of having to spend the only free time that I have under the car messing around with it. Recently I've taken more interest in doing some of the work myself, but for the last 2 years it wasn't even an issue: drop it off and be on the way. If you're not really interested (or have the inclination to) change the cabin filter or changing/checking fluids, taking the car in to a pro to have it done (hopefully) right is a no brainer IMO. YMMV, of course.

The service guy's rationale made sense though... either spend a few bucks and have it done now, or take your chances with an $8k transmission down the road. Seemed like a good idea after that.
Coz the time they save on working on car may generate not millions but thousands or hundred dollars already...
..... One exception...... C Class owners may want to work on their car themselves... .................. Who knows,, those crappy Mercedes always break down... I had really bad expeirnce with those C240 loaners., 2 die on me in a row ., for my last two services.,
I can get you guys the exact list but If I were you I won't do Service B my self.

Go check out the AMG folder and you'll see a ton of people that have $20k worth of mods in their cars (which are already pricey to begin with), yet they do the mods themselves, because they like to work on their cars.

* change oil and oil filter
* change cabin filter (at least on the W208, not sure about other models)
* all-around bulb check, check the wiper and wiper fluid
* check the tires and tire pressure, brake pads and rotors
* check all fluids and reset the FSS counter
Other than reseting the counter (which I have no idea how to do), I would assume that you can do all that yourself, if you have the time and the inclination to do so.
Service B is the same thing, but it also adds:
* replace the wiper blade(s)
* rotate the tires
* lubricate the throttle linkage
* check the e-brake and steering
* check the front axle ball joints
* check all fluids and reset the FSS counter
Not sure if I missed anything, but I might have.
Also, how do you lubricate the throttle shaft??
Not for one originally sold in Canada and now residing in the US, as many are. Apparently MBUSA and MBCanada(?) don't play well together.
I had the service done and it was $450.
But now I have a engine oil warning that keeps coming on. I had the oil changed at the service, but I think it's a sensor.
Anyone else have this problem yet?

And of course, they have to do that for free.
