Carlsson Kit
Does anybody know a place that can get authentic Carlsson kits? I recently received the front and rear apron for the clk 320 but I need a back and the shop told me it would take 2 months to get.
Thanks
Thanks

Out Of Control!!
if you're talking about the Carlsson RS kit, u wont be able to find an original. There were only like 6 made, thats why everyone has the replica, not the original.

Yah, cause i mean you can get the basic w208 Carlsson Aero kit from an aftermarket like EvoSport(.com) without too much difficulty. One caution, the prices probably have gone up 20-25% in the last year due to Euro Exchange Rates (halfway indicative of actual conversion rate).

Carlsson, similar to Brabus and Lorinser make aero body kits for the 320. However, unlike the 430, when you get a body kit for a 320, basically what you are referring to is side skirts, and front and rear bumper SPOILERS. These are molded onto the front and rear similar to the side skirts. Since i have a 320 i looked into the same matter and found out that all three of the above companies make comparable products. The most aggressive looking IMO is the Lorinser, which is also the priciest. As far as body kits i thought the Brabus was a good industry standard for the 320, and you can still order it from Brabus USA. The Carlsson kit, whose production is very limited is probably the least drastic styling change, which may or may not be ideal for you. Unfortunately i think Carlsson distribution runs strictly through some place in Florida, where places like evosport get their carlsson products, and due to euro exchange rates as well as general selectivity, prices on the carlsson add-on kit have risen to just below or equal to that of the Brabus. Hope this helps

MBWorld Fanatic!
I've seen real ones both on and off the car, and would still be skeptical. The real one fits just as bad as the replica (before it's been worked on, of course) and is made of fiberglass as well. What's more is that the replica has the same Carlsson logos and serial numbers present on the "real" kits. I remember some guy tried to sell me a kit, claiming it was real. As "proof" he showed me the serial numbers and logos. I told him that I'd only consider it if he could produce a bill of sale from Carlsson and a legal affidavit certifying its authenticity. Never heard from the guy again. This was from a supposedly reputable seller/Carlsson retailer. lol
As for how many were actually made, yes there were more than six made, but not many more. It was never a kit that was produced for retail sale.

The only truly unique element of the Carlsson RS kit IMO is the front bumper. For those intersted in the RS look, i would suggest buying a replica front bumper then whichever aero side skirts and rear apron fit the bill, considering you would be saving money vs. RS fitment issues.
