Convertible top advice
2000 CLK 430
When I purchased the car the top did not work. About a month ago I went over a hard bump and the roll ball went up. The roll bar will not go down and the red dot in the middle of the button is on (owners manuel says it means an error). I tried to put it down I can hear something engaging but nothing moves. The same is true for the convertible top release it and all the windows go down, I can hear mechanical working, or gurgling in a pipe but no movement. Any advice?

I'm quite familiar with diagnosing/troubleshooting/repair on malfunctions with the power roof and/or roll-bar.
I believe you'll find the below thread informative, to lower your roll-bar, whether it extended mechanically due to going over the hard bump (e.g. crash deployment) or a malfunctioning component within the roll-bar assembly.
