How to replace the (accordion) shifter gate cover. Anyone?

Question How to replace the (accordion) shifter gate cover. Anyone?
Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to replace the (accordion) shifter gate cover? I took my console apart and tried to fix mine, but I noticed it was already damaged and I can't figure out how to access the channel it rides in (I don't even know if that (top) part of the shifter assembly can be separated), so I just removed it for now.

I didn't want to break anything and I could find any information on it, so I'm here, hoping someone has done this already.

All help is appreciated.
