Clk 320 w208 roof and windows faults
All new to this I'm afraid
I've just bought a clk320 2001 elegance
When I got the car it was said that the roof didn't work I didn't think that this would be a problem and I'd get it fixed for summer
The next day I got in the car and tryed opening the window nothing. So I tryed the other windows none of which worked I also noticed that the rear headrests had also stopped working and the red light was on
I rang who I got the car of he sujested I dissconect the battery which when I did all the window exc worked again all seems fine but this seems temporary as the next time I used it it did the same thing all stopped
Dose anyone have any ideas please
Thanks Andy
Our cars have a unique "CAN/BUS" system, in which many different components operate off of the same circuit(s), so if a controller (or some other integral component) is crippled or fails, it affects more than one thing, making it harder to track down. They also have to be "re-coded" if you replace one of the modules (which apparently you can't do yourself). I think this is my current problem. Possibly yours too. I'm still searching to see if it can be done w/o having to pay MB a bunch of money for something I assume is pretty simple.
I'll post up if I find the solution before you do, but as of right now, the closest I've gotten (besides disconnecting the battery) is to pull all 3 window fuses for a few seconds. That has been my best option for now.
G/L and keep us posted.
