200 clk 320

never say never

well it happened almost 5 yrs without a scratch and yesturday i wrecked my clk .... i say 5-7 k in damages ...
is it better to go to the dealership's body shop or independant ??

got mine @ park place in dallas ... ive always thought that dealership body repairs dont cut it ... but im afraid to take it to someplace that may have never even seen a CLK before any advice /recommendations ???

Actually, in my experience (I used to work at a dealer), the dealer is the best place to take the car for body repairs (if your dealer has a body shop) BUT ONLY IF YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!!!!! If it was the other guys fault then go to the dealer. Sorry to hear about the wreck.

that sucks! I have no idea of a Dallas shop, but check the work of the shop you goto. If they do not have BMW's Benz's, Porsches etc., go to the next shop.

Dealer is NOT always the best place; sometimes their contracted body shop sucks ***, as is the case with CalStar Mercedes in Glendale, CA, and their contracted shop New Tech Auto Body. I cannot express strongly enough how terrible New Tech's work is.

I dont know about contracted body shops but the Lexus dealer I used to work at had its own body shop and they did an excellent job (I'm not saying all dealers are good, take a look at what they've done before you decide).
