AT lease take away the finder gap. Whatever you do.......make sure you change all the parts (springs, spring pads and/or shocks) at the same time. It will save you money.

It cost me $430 to install my eibach/konis and four wheel alignment... I have no idea how people are getting it done for $200. Its $100 just because you have a Mercedes... then they want to charge you per wheel...

No one has ever said that to me directly but its pretty much a rule. As soon as you tell them you drive a mercedes their eyes light up and the price magically appears to go up. "Oh it a mercedes, its much more complicated, i gotta drop this and that and i gotta use a benz guy" Whatever excuse they want to give you to get more money out of you...

haters crazy
I live in the dc area and havent gotten a quote of less than 350. I think I'm going to try doing it myself. Taking out the springs is the hard part, I guess I could use a jack and lower the control arm slowly to get the spring out.

The front springs are a pain to remove. The rear springs are easy.

I think i paid 175 to install my brabus springs. I knowingly got charged more for having a mercedes, but as the mechanic explianed it, switching springs on a clk versus say a honda is a whole different animal. Btw, he charges 150 for hondas, so i could care less about 25 bucks.

cheaper in LA than in NY

I think the price debate here is between LA and NY people. In NY car customizing is not as big as it is in LA. There arent as many shops willing or capable to perform the work, and the rough roads here in NY prohibit us from a dramatic drop or very low profile tires.

If you are in NY or an area where car customization is not a big deal, figure for the shocks, springs, pads, and alignment, you will spend at least $350-400 in installation.

Maybe the cheap quotes are for shops just putting the springs on. They don't adjust and correct the camber afterwards? I've seen some bo-legged benzes out there that should have gotten their camber adjusted when they dropped it. Not sure, but that could be a reason.

I believe most shops will charge the same amount to install springs PLUS shocks , compared to just springs..... at least that's how shops in the south bay area are.

I paid a lot, but hind site is 20/20, I should have shoped around. The work was awesome but expensive. I took it to a shop that specializes in SCCA race suspensions as well as normal day to day stuff. They tackle the difficult with precision. Heck the even put me on a scale prior to setting up the alignment. Now thats being picky~!!!!
