Xenon light width adjuster arm and electronic box

On the MOT the adjuatment of the xenon light was found being incomplete. It lacks at least the control arm mounted to suspension and electronic servo motor. I was just 10 minutes ago at a garage that has lifts and looked underneath the car around the passenger side wheel and suspension and could not locate either servo motor or the broken previous control arm. Ao wonder if perhaps it is missing altogether.

Could anyone please support on photo of location whwre this part is supposed to be mounted and where the servo part is living? I couldnt find it from either engine top sidr looking down, or from underside looking up.

Any help is much appreciated.

Here is the theory of operation and component locations, for the fully automatic Xenon headlamp range adjustment operation.

The front and rear axle sensors, A51 and A52, signal any changes in the vehicle ride height directly to the N71 headlamp range adjustment control module. In turn, the headlamp range adjustment control module compares both the vehicle ride height and the headlamp adjustment values and as necessary the headlamps are adjusted via the headlamp range adjustment motors, E1m1 and E2m1. This adjustment only takes place, if over a period of time, the front and rear axle sensors indicate a change in the vehicle ride height.

The A51 and A52, front and rear axle sensors, are mounted on the stabilizer bar of both the front and rear axles.

The N71 headlamp range adjustment control module processes the received signals, from the front and rear axle sensors.

Additionally, the headlamp range adjustment motors, E1m1 and E2m1, via a potentiometer, indicates the position of the headlamp reflectors, which is sent to the headlamp range adjustment control module for evaluation and if required, a correction.

Thanks that helps a bit. I was there looking could not see the regulator motor nor linkage.

If someone could send actual photo of how the adjuster and linkage is fastened in the car I would appreciate it. At the moment I have in my posession bought from Mercedes the 5 cm or so linkage. I may need additional parts to get all to work. Potentially adjuster sensor and cable for the same as well.

Thanks for help.

Hi people, still working to get this one solved, MOT is ending in three days. :/

Could anyone help with where the link rod for the xenon height adjustment would fit to the front axle? (At the other end fastened to the electric adjuster unit arm) I guess on photo three below in the center there is a small stump of a piece of metal of the arm "holding the wheel" controlling vertical movement. But I don't know if this is correct? If so, can I order additional parts from Mercedes to tie my link rod too? Or improvise with cable tie or small metal bracket or hose clamp?

Many thanks for help,

Overview, front passenger side

Adjuster arm, small part center of photo, old part which is broken, half piece is missing.

Center of photo veritically, a bit below horisontal center, right of arm - Is this the broken/rusted out remains of a place where the adjuster rod arm would be fastened to do the automatic height adjustment (not to blind other drivers)?

The front HRA sensor is located in the wheelhouse on the upper right wishbone.

Here are the MB WIS details to remove or install the sensor.
