need help figuring out problem

I need some help trying to figure out a problem Im having with my CLK.

When im driving at a constant speed the rpm's will drop about 200-300 and the car rumbles (like you are driving over a rumble strip) and a few seconds later the rpm's go back up to normal and the cars fine. It does it at 25 and also higher speeds like 50-60. Sometimes it only does it once or twice and other times it will do it every few minutes for awhile.

Car is an '02 320 with 40k on it.

Any thoughts are appreciated-

no, it happens on flat open roads going a constant speed

Hmmm... Do you have any other problems while driving? Any hiccups while accelerating? Is the car shifting gears when this happens?

all the abs and other brake lights came on with it one time and this problem was blamed on that.

Brakes fixed and now this problem is happening more and more.

I am not sure whether the car is upshifting for a second and then going back into gear. Its more like in a stick if you half put the clutch in and then let it back out.

Other than that car runs perfectly
