passenger seat inoperative

Hello, the passenger seat does not move forward when the backrest is lowered and the seat up and down does not move. After pressing the lift button, the seat moves forward. Will calibration through diagnostics help? Thx

There are at least a few good threads on here about this issue (I made one myself). The short answer is: Check for water under the carpet. Also, if you take the torx bolts out of the seat cushion (one on each side), you can lift the cushion w/o having to remove the seat (mind the SRS plug) and tap the motors with a hammer, etc. and they should start working again. This is usually a sign of motors getting wet, or going bad (due to age, etc.).

Do a search for more detail (and pics).

G/L to you.

It may be the problem I've already discussed, but it may also be the controller in the door (for the seat).

Hi Dalasek,

I had the same issue, although i could move the seat back and forward using the memory buttons. I found a little bit of corrosion on the seat controller. When i replaced the seat controller with a newer version, the problem disappeared AND the window now automatically dropped when the door is opened and lifted when the door opened. Result!!

PS there is a super youtube video from Auto Repair Guys on how to remove the door card, though I wouldn't recommend trying to prise the seat switch from the door card. Instead, push it out from behind after you've removed the door card.

I had this and bought a used seat module off ebay and it didnt fix it lol!

my problem turned out to be at the seat switch on the door. My mechanic removed the door card, spritzed some contact cleaner on switch contacts, and voila! Working seat adjustments.

Aww. I hope you were able to return it to your ebay seller.

Removing and replacing the door card is quite fiddly. I once spent 5 hours doing it on both sides.

I wasnt able to send it back, its in my parts cabinet now. I figured I'd just keep it in case mine does fail.

Yeah watching those guys do it, Im glad I didnt have to. With my luck I'd break a lot of clips for sure.

Would you mind posting a link? I tried searching but had no result. Maybe I just don't know how to search.

The issue I am having is the seat will not move back once it moved forward. I can see/smell smoke coming out from underneath the seat when I hit the door switch to move the seat backwards. I replaced the door switch. It worked temporarily but back at it again. Its like the motor is fighting its self between backwards and forwards. I hear a click, but then nothing. Seat goes up and down, head rest works as well.
