Which CLK to get?

Hey guys im new here... and i been looking to get a CLK, but which one?

Here are my choices, either a 1999 CLK430, or a 2000 CLK320.....
Anything wrong with the 1999 CLK430s?
Is the CLK320 have enough power?

Get a 2000 CLK430, best of both worlds.

Model Year 2000 come with blinking side mirror. I have a 320 and I think it's more than enough for non-agressive driving (well, I wish I have the 430 by the way ) As mbtech said, get a 2000 430, you won't regret that!

I have a 2001 CLK320 and I do love that car but sometimes I wish I had the 430 instead. Go for the 2000 and up models.

I have a 2002 CLK 320 CAB and almost everyday I wish I would have sprung for the 430.

I bought the car rather than leasing it so the extra 10k (including tax) was an issue.

My 320 in no way feels underpowered though, it's just that after getting hooked on this web site you get a strong case of 430 envy.

But getting the 320 and then upgrading RIMS, tires, & springs and adding a Kleeman is probably better than a stock 430.

Regards,
Don Biz

He got one of the remaining 3 at the last Tuningwerks show in Huntington Beach. We are in the process of printing more, and will announce it on the boards as soon as they are ready.

Crazy,

I bought a 99 CLK430 and have no regrets. Well except one. I wish I had Command (I'm working on that!) I assume your choice between a 99 CLK430 and a 2000 CLK320 has to do with money.

I highly recommend the 99 CLK430 over the 320 due to the horsepower issue. If your looking at a 00 CLK320 fully loaded (command, phone, etc) then I might opt for that since the 99 doesn't come with Command and there are phone upgrade issues (which the 2000 year also has). The 2000 also has Teleaid which isn't available in 99 (Not a big concern for me really).

So if HP is the primary concern, go for the 99. If you're looking at a 2000 CLK320 with all the goodies and thats your preference, go for that instead.

My ideal would be a 2001-2002 CLK430! Command is available, and no phone issues.

(Note: 99 is a split year. After June 99, CLKs have fiber optic wiring)

doesn't matter if it's a 320 or 430 make sure you got one that's model 2000 and up. why? because 2000 and up has the screen on the gauge, controls on the steering wheels. the interior material was also improved.

But i think to myself, if i get a CLK320, then why not go for a bmw 330ci?

How do they compare?

CLK 430
Why?

Because you will see more BMW 330ci's on the road than you will the CLK.

even with 320 u can drive very aggresively

2000 models look cleaner and sharper

go with 2000 320

or just wait for the new 500

im sorry but a 330ci is faster than a clk320. I seen times for both cars, and the 330ci is quicker. But the CLK320 has more class

CLK 430
And I would say that 48k is a fair price.

For comparison, I paid $43,000 for my stock 2000 CLK 430. Fully loaded with all options...except command. It had less than 8000 miles on it when I purchased it 3 months ago.

Where were you when I was in the market for a new CLK?

:o)

hey...
i challenge any 330 to ruff up with my 320.. cmon...cmon!!!!

by the way... from experience... the 2000+ 320's are very reliable. I've driven mine for 100,000 km and till date the only real problem i had was the alternator ( that was replaced under warranty)

how about that gentlemen?!!!!

i gotta admit though, the 320 has amazing torque and engine sound... maybe its my mufflers, but i'd love to listen to the 430 engine... oooooh yah!!
