Able to start car in any gear - didn't pass inspection
Hi
My W208 has a separate button for the starter motor. The previous owner said it was because the old motor broke, but I asume it could also act as a hidden switch. Regardless, the car is able to start in any gear which isn't allowed in my country and thus it didn't pass the inspection. Does anyone have an idea on how to prevent the car from starting in Drive, Reverse, 1, 2, 3 and 4? I thought about taking the signal from these gears and then prohibiting the button for the starter motor from working. Or could you tell the ECU to not inject fuel when the transmission is in Drive, Reverse, 1, 2, 3 and 4? (why doesn't it already do that)
