Does anyone know how to reset the FSS
My car is almost 50K miles so I need to do the oil change on my own. But I don't know to reset the maintenance schedule. Does any know know?
Thanks a bunch.

However:
1) what year is your car? It makes a difference
2) where are you located? The answer to #1 may change what you mean when you state the year of the car
3) the answer is probably in your owner's manual

with the key on and the ignition on.
go to the fss screen where it says "service in xxxxxx miles"
push and hold the R button and the side of the cluster, it will ask if you want to reset, hit the R button again.

Try this:
Turn the electronic key in steering lock to position 2. To call up the trip odometer and main odometer, press button 3 or 4 on the multifunction steering wheel until the display appears.
Press button 5 or 6 until the FSS indicator appears.
Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster for approximately 2 seconds.
The multifunction display will show the question:
'DO YOU WANT TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL? - CONFIRM BY PRESSING R'
Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster again, and hold until a signal sounds. The message 'SERVICE INTERVAL HAS BEEN RESET' appears in the multifunction display.
The new service indicator is displayed with the reset distance of 10,000 miles
Don’t let go the 0 button until you hear the bip, & you might need to have the driver’s door closed.
(Tried it again with driver side door closed!)

FSS Definition (while we're on the topic)
Since 1998, we've equipped all new Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the Flexible Service System (FSS). An electronic monitor checks the quantity and, on the advanced version in our new family of V6 and V8 vehicles, the condition of your engine oil. A "wrench light" on your dashboard lets you know when it's time for a regular maintenance service.
While each Mercedes-Benz is precision-crafted to exacting standards, not all drivers are alike. The Flexible Service System (FSS) accommodates the service requirements created by your individual driving style. By constantly monitoring your engine oil, the FSS may extend the service interval, which averages about 10,000 miles, without sacrificing the performance and protection you expect from your Mercedes-Benz.*
FSS evaluates engine temperature, oil level, vehicle speed, engine speed, distance driven and the time elapsed since your last service. It determines when your vehicle needs service and alerts you well in advance.
Each time you start your engine after you are approximately 2,500 miles or 30 days from requiring service, the dashboard readout displays a 10-second message telling you when your vehicle is due for service.
The advanced version of FSS also alerts you when your oil level is below minimum or above maximum. It even indicates how much oil you need to add. And if you add oil between service visits, the system automatically recognizes the change and lengthens the interval between service requirements.

Maybe a stupid question on my part but; have you already changed the oil? If you try to reset the FSS before changing oil it won't do it. The engine has a viscosity/pollutant sensor and will only be reset with clean oil in the crankcase.

if this question still hasn't been answered.. i can help...
i just changed my oil today... my friend thought 9.5 quarts was a ridiculous amount. i have a '99 clk430 and to reset the FSS you have to do a few steps as indicated in page 93 of the owner's manual.
Turn electornic key in steerring lock position 2.
Within 4 seconds press button "0" twice.
Press and hold button "0", while turning electronic key in steering lock to position 2 again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more. Continue to hold button "0".
After approx. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10,000 miles (Canada: 15,000KM) for approx. 10 seconds.
Release button "0"
if you do it right.. you should be able to see 10,000 miles.
