CONVERTIBLE STOPPED MIDWAY IN CYCLE - FOUND SMALL AMT. OF FLUID LEAK ON/NEAR REAR R

Hello,
I bought this car at auction very well taken care of 112k miles - clearly garaged - paint excellent condition - the top stopped halfway through the opening cycle - leaked on rear window or on the top some where while opening. Now will not open.

Does this narrow the possible problem down? The rear cover opened to accept the top before the cycle stopped.
