superchargers
ok fellas
doing some research on the superchargers
1. in evosport.com saw clk55k going up to 550hp - is this street legal? (great site by the way)
2. if the supercharger is added does the life of your engine becomes shorter?
3. saw the v max delimeter for top speed over 250 km/h what is that for?
thanks for input in advance

#1, Adding the Kleemann supercharger (550hp) does nothing to reduce the street legal nature of your vehicle. It is still street legal, just unlawfully fast.
#2, Your engine life will prob. be reduced by about 3% from what I am told. Not a big deal.
#3, The Vmax delimeter is used to unlimit the vehicles top speed. Right now AMG's are limited to 155 mph while non AMG vehicles are limited to approx 130 mph.

thanks adam
one more question
lorinser supecharger over $24,000 delivers 340 hp on clk 430
kleemann supercharger near $17,000 delivers 430 hp on clk 430
i dont get it hy is lorinser so expensive and yet they dont deliver as much hp
what is the advantage over a lorinser supercharger?
one thing i liked is their canary yellow engine cover
i really hate that purple color on kleemann looks so nasty (sorry)
does it come in any other color?

Im not too familiar with the Lorrinser S/C. I will tell you that the Kleemann is most likely the best on the market right now.
The purple cover is optional. Most leave it off so you can see the engine in all its glory. I think Brandon form Kleemann said they were going to produce covers in black for the U.S. market.

Kleemann makes different supercharges for each model of vehicle/engine. Therefore, the 55's get one setup whereas the 430's get another.
The covers are plastic. I don't think I would try to paint them.

lorinser supercharger prices are ridiculous. But as far as i rememeber, the price of the V6 supercharger was cheaper than kleemans but kleemans produces better output.
the good thing is that lorinser have distributors all over the world and kleemans unfortunately don't.

Ahmed, did you get the email I sent you regarding the dealer in Saudi Arabia? How far is that from you? If that is a problem, please let me know.
To sum it up, there is no comparison between any other supercharger and the Kleemann supercharger. They've been doing it properly for years, and so far no one has caught up. Kleemann is the ultimate in superchargers.

white and whiter
i remember reading an article in the Car and Driver last year. it was on the Kleeman mod CLK43K and C32K with their s/c.
their S/C CLK430 was only marginaly faster than the stock than the CLK55 but with much more hp and torque.
how can this happened? if they have more hp and torque.
here is the link:kleeman CLK43K and C32K

ones too fast according to CHP!
One reason is that it is VERY difficult to get the power to the ground. The car has so much power - it spins the tires and the shift from 1st to 2nd is tough under full load. That is why from 0-60 it is only marginally faster. Do any type of 30-90 or 50-100, etc. test and the Kleemann will KILL the 55. (we have done these tests)
Thanks
Brad

I know 100 % sure that a deal has been made between a company in Lebanon and KLEEMANN for the whole Middle East,
so mabye a dealer near you is not far away.
Find the phone number on www.kleemann.dk

Do a search in the E class board for this supercharger. Basically, there are no comparisons between that and the Kleemann. It doesn't even come with an intercooler!

OK guys.
Let's be rational here. Clearly, the Kleeman supercharger is an incredible modification to your automobile.
All BS aside, at half the cost this thing would be an alternative for folks to consider who can't put down the 20k required to get into a Kleeman. (and YES, let's talk about all the costs...not just the unit cost)
Is anyone suggesting that if you can't get the Kleeman then you shouldn't get anything? PLEASE. Someone with this mod might not be able to stack up the numbers that the Kleeman can...but for folks who would never put their CLK on a track anyway....does that really matter? They would get a little more fun in their ride and maybe have change left over for other mods. (I realize that some of you have bottomless pockets...but...for the rest of the free world...this is a consideration)
Now, what I want to see from someone knowledgeable (MACH?) is a true comparison of specs. Something simple so that people would know what the trade-off would be if you decided to go with another option besides the Kleeman.
HP, Torque, intercooler vs non-intercooled, ect. (and talk about the difference an intercooler makes)
Mach...I know you're a bit biased....but I also know that you may be one of the few who could post a truly objective comparison based on your knowledge and experience.
Could you do that please? THANKS.

C'mon. This is NOT what the terms of use states. I know you are smarter then that!
Please show me anywhere in the terms of service where it mentions "endorse."
The terms of use is to prevent people from using this board unfairly to advertise or solicit business.
We welcome any and all info on the comparison of these kits.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me.
Thanks

otoupalik,
I think he was just kidding actually.
But, I think this is a healthy conversation....I'm looking forward to a comparison. I did go to both websites and started some research.
According to the Kleeman site, the intercooler is important to reducing air temps which one might assume would reduce engine life expectancy.
The question is, what hard data is there to support this? If not having an intercooler reduced the engine life by like 20%...this might not be acceptable. But if the reduction of engine life is like 10%....big deal. I'm sure the Kleeman reduces engine life as well...but I would assume something on the order of a few percent?
Still looking for that "expert" comparison !!
