1999 clk320 convertible popping noise
I recently bought a 1999 clk320 convertible with 80,000 miles. The day after we bought it my wife went to put the top down and it stopped halfway through opening. A mechanic was able to manually close the top for us and we were told that 4 of the 7 hydraulic pumps were leaking and would need to be reconditioned costing an arm and a leg! In the meantime while we are driving the car we continually hear a loud popping sound which sounds like it’s coming from the trunk area. Any ideas???
