ML 55 flow sensor in CLK 430

Hi all,

Got a lot of question since I have my CLK 430 from few weeks now.

As I planned to replace the 430OEM AIRBOX by the 320 AIRBOX (see other thread) following the positive inputs I have found in MBWORLD.

I was wondering it it would be an interesting mod for performance to switch the 430 OEM flow sensor by a one from ML 55 AMG. What do you think?

Found one for sale, and since it is the same configuration that the one I plan to install (the 320 airbox is more or less the same as the ML 55 airbox) could be a good way to gain some power for minimal investment.

If it's good for perf (knowing I will do a chip / ecu tuning after that).Is it easy to change to swap the pieces? Are both sensor fitting the engine the same way or should I expect getting into trouble and difficulties? I don't know if someone did it before.

I've finally found some good stuffs digging into some old threads. Apparently, except the oldest cars (1999/2000) coming with 69mm flow sensor, CLK 430 & CLK 55 AMG have the same size (74mm). Not so sure for mine as it is a late 2000 model. Well I guess I'll not change it as it might be the same

I've never heard of anyone doing this mod in the 20+ years I've been involved in the CLK community. When I still had my CLK I was using the stock 430 mass air meter and my car was supercharged making 400+ hp. It's absolutely not a bottleneck on an otherwise stock engine.
