What do you love/hate about your W208?
I'm considering purchasing a W208, and i'd like to know what you love (and don't love) about your W208. Thanks!

For me its been: The window not staying all the way up on the auto up function (warranty), squeaky seats and dash (warranty), and the fuel gauge/sender issue (fixed itself). Thats about it for me. Pretty minimal compared to what some others have had to deal with and mine's the first year model CLK430.

Everytime I use the key to open the windows and sunroof... the sunroof doesnt want to close... you push the button forward.. and it only moves a little ways...
and my '99 only has express down.

Amen to that. Chicks dig it.
Positives: Muscular appearance (as opposed to w209), smooth transmission and limited but quality modding options.
Negatives: Minor irritating squeaks from my seats and console, and electrical malfunctions ( i too have dealt with a finicky sunroof)

1999 CLK430
just was in my car, no express up, only down. although there is a click when i push it up all the way like when pushing express down, is it a fuse or are you just teasing me and i dont have it?
back on topic: i agree the W209 is girly and generic looking while the W208 is aggressive and muscular. When i told my girlfriend I was buying a car she was unhappy then she saw it and rode for five minutes then took the keys saying she wanted to drive it and it was 'her' car

CLK 430
This thread is helpful as I just picked up a CLK 430 with 31K miles on it... What should I expect to go wrong in the near future? Other than rattles and squeeks.

I couldn't believe the squeaks at first... that was just retarded. The "fog light round robin death" nonsense is pissing me off too... fix one, the other one goes. Get that fixed, the other one dies in a couple of days.
I had a couple of things DIE for no apparent reason... the trunk latch had to be replaced because it would open whenever it felt like it, and the shift lock was acting up last year. There's a loooong list of visits over at the dealership of things that have been repaired... I gotta ask them for a copy one of these days.

I really hope mercedes learns from audi in interior quality. the 208 has the sh*ttiest interior i have seen in a luxury coupe. i think it really might rival a mustang in terms of interior quality

My uncle has a 2000 CLK320 Cabrio, and when I ride in it, I notice tons of cowl jiggle and shake with the top down, and squeaks and creaks almost constantly from the softtop when it's up(especially at the bottom of the rear window where the softop latches down), and some positive things are a quiet ride(low wind and road noise), smooth engine, solid build quality....even though it's not mine, thought I'd give my two cents
