Abs bas esp light
My abs esp and bas light keeps coming on the dash every so often. I replaced my brake light switch because I read that could cause it. Any other suggestions I can check to hopefully remedy this problem. TYIA

Hope this car is reliable. I'm looking to buy one and this model has everything I want. Single arm wiper, 3 point star on the bonnet and the interior design from the 90s. I know its replacement is probably better but I really want the single arm wiper and there aren't many around.

Many possibilities, scan the error codes with a pro scan tool. Basic odbcii scan won’t read what you need, then post here for further help.

I had the bas/abs/esp problem on my 2000 CLK430 for months and months, so I finally bought a decent scan tool (Foxwell NT530). It said my right rear speed sensor was bad. I verified the sensor was bad, and replaced it with a new one, and that solved my problem. Without the scan tool it would've been very difficult to find the problem. Also, the scan tool helped me easily diagnose and fix other problems like a clogged EGR system, and a problematic secondary air pump system which were causing my check engine light to come on.

Speed sensors on each wheel (believe some earlier models only had one at the back in the rear diff) clean sensors and toothed ring, SAS (steering angle sensor) behind steering wheel has optical sensors which can get dusty (disconnect battery for at least 15 mins before removing airbag). Yaw sensor which is under or behind the back seat depending on coupe or ragtop. Then there's the main module which is in one of the Sam's under the bonnet. I had these light come on permanately which I traced to low voltage at the abs module and traced it to a bad connection in a Signal Aquasition Module (the one with just fuses and relays under the bonnet). If it's coming on when you go over a pothole suspect the wheel speed sensors and start there.
