2001 CLK 320 keeps running

Just got My 2001 CLK 320 convertible out for the summer and noticed if I turn it off and remove the key with my foot on the brake it keeps running until I release the brake.
It been a while since I had this one out but don't remember it doing this before. Is this normal or where should I start looking for a problem?

Does the car have a remote start aftermarket and kill switch installed?

No. Not that I am aware of. One owner before me and I doubt they did any thing like that

Resolved

When checking the lights, I noticed that the right rear brake light was on with the the tail light so I changed the bulb. Now the brake and tail lights work independently as they should and the car no longer continues to run with the brakes applied and the key removed. Amazing... I am sure someone has an explanation for this but I no longer need to know
