All of a sudden, the message says "No CD Changer". Thanks in advance for your input.

Display error

Try turning the car off (or key out of the ignition), wait about a minute and then put the key back into the ignition (or turn the car back on). Can't explain to you what really is happening but I've had occurrences where only half side of the speakers work and by taking the key in and out of the ignition has fixed the problem. Hopefully it works for you as well.

My CD Changer is back!

Removing the fuse and re-entering the radio code is the savior! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

Happens to me all the time too which is why I use my iPod instead. Never use the CD changer anymore.

To CLK430ROB and The Kingfish

CLK430ROB, I don't have COMAND. All I did was to locate the fuse for the radio, took it off and then put it back in. When the radio was turned on, it asked for the radio code. Put in the radio code and that was it - the CD Changer was recognized again.

The Kingfish, what link did you use to work you IPOD in? Thanks!

Thanks for the Info..

Being a lazy *** and not wanting to look for the radio fuse, do you happen to know where it is by any chance?

Also.. if your reading STEVE. If I pull the fuse on the COMAND... will I need a radio code? I have your Euro Comand that you installed for me, but I never recalled having to enter a code or you giving me one.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

NVDR - call your dealer (or nearest one) they should be able to give you

the right code for your radio.

there is a unique radio code for your particular head unit... it helps prevent a stolen stereo from being used.

The COMAND does not use a radio code... so pull the fuse at your leisure.

When refering to the fuse. Are we talking about the fuse that is behind the radio? or the fuse from the fusebox?

Thanks,
Rob

Well, I was only referring to the code requirement, of which there is none. You can pull either fuse and you still won't need a code. The fuse behind the COMAND is for whatever the COMAND supplies power for (such as CD changer or antenna stuff). The fuse in the fusebox supplies power to the COMAND (and of course, to whatever the COMAND supplies as well).

If you're really that lazy....just disconnect your battery and reconnect it. Of course you'll have to reset some other things as well (IE sunroof, windows...etc)

I tried this last night

Removing the Fuse for the Radio and putting it back, but it still does not see my CD Changer. It seems that it did'nt reset anything. All my presets were still saved on the COMAND and it was as if it always had power. I removed fuse #10 (15amp) under the hood. Did i do the right one? This is a COMAND that steve installed.

Thanks,
Rob

If your presets were still saved, then your radio did not lose power when you pulled the fuse. Either Steve ran another constant 12v power supply to the radio (highly doublful) or you did not pull the correct fuse. Just unplug the battery...it'll be a hell of a lot easier.

This happened to me twice, and when I took the car to my dealer, they replaced the whole unit both times while I was under warranty. It hasn't happened again.
