W208 convertible top system check issue
W208 convertible top system check issue
I am trying to solve my intermittent issue of the top module indicating a fault at key on that will not allow top operation. (Top switch does not go out after key on). I have checked all of the microswitches and found them all correct at both closed and opened positions. Does anyone have a list of the modules (in order) that are checked by the top module when going through the system checks at key on?
Serndipity?

What I am looking for is a list of the CANBUS signals from other modules that the top Computer N52 must receive to enable top operation on system power up. I am also looking for the order of the CANBUS module connectors in the X30/7 junction connector. This is for troubleshooting of my 2001 CLK320 Cabriolet. Anyone?

Thank you for your responses Allen. All good information. But all my switches and wiring test OK. And when the system works, all is validated. The issue is isolated to the System Check" that the computer performs on "key on". So if I could find out what conditions the computer needs to see during that 1 second test period when the ignition is turned on, I could begin to make some progress.
Here’s an idea you might try next: remove the fuse for the convertible top control module completely to see if the issue with the other systems persist. If you continue to have a host of issues, the fault is not likely within the convertible top system. Have you checked security or key fob systems? I’ve heard they can go bad sometimes, but are relatively easy to replace.
