Pics of AVIC N1 Install

Finally got time to take some pics of the install. Im waiting on a new roof mounted GPS antenna to get rid of that annoying dash antenna. Anyway heres the pics. It protrudes slightly from the dash due to lack of dash depth. I think it came out pretty good overall.

Navigation is excellent but sometimes quirky. Vehicle dynamics are hyped up, not really useful, and the sound quality is incredible. It is a fairly loud unit though as it does have a cooling fan although it doesnt really bother me all that much as either the engine or the music is louder.

Is that a touch screen? Do you mind telling us how much you got it for?

Quick question??

I'm not sure if you said you installed the unit youself....if you did...and assuming this unit has a VSS wire to hook up....(My Alpine does) ....where did you find the best place to connect it to??

Thanks, & Happy Holidays !

I definitely didnt install it myself. I might have really f**ked up my car if i did theres a multitude of wiring to be installed. It connects to everything from illumination signals to the reverse lights to the parking brake. Anyway, the AVIC N1 has a brain unit with a built in gyroscope so it calculates speed that way.

I had circuit city install my unit cause I was in a rush and I paid dearly for it. I have an appointment at my regular shop this week to fix up what they did wrong. Ill ask the tech at the shop where the VSS is and i'll let you know.

First, thanks for the quick reply especially now during the Holidays, yes I know that it's a complicated install....I have most of the wiring figured out except for the VSS which I'm still researching.....

Anyway, thanks again for your offer to help.
