Extended Warranty for car nearing the end of Manuf Warranty

Has anyone used Warrantydirect.com to purchase their extended warranty? Apparently, they are the only "internet" warranty company where you can buy an extended warranty from if you are a resident of CA. (I have confirmed this with CA Dept of Insurance)

For my 02 CLK 320 w/ 27K, and for 5yr/100k warranty they are asking for $2,300-2,500, with 0 or $100 deductible, respectively. A local MB dealership offered me 5yr/100k for $3,385 w/ $200 deductible

Thanks in advance!!! See below for warrantydirect.com details.

Their California MBI plan seems pretty good and it is an exclusionary warranty. Please see the details below on the exclusions list:
California MBI coverage statement:

We will pay the licensed repair facility of your choice for the reasonable cost to repair or replace any part of your vehicle where a failure has occurred, except for those items listed in the exclusions section.

Exclusions:

Carburetor; battery; shock absorbers; manual transmission clutch assembly; friction clutch disc and pressure plate; throw out bearing; manual and hydraulic linkages; distributor cap and rotor; safety restraint systems; glass; lenses; sealed beams; light bulbs; brake rotors and drums; exhaust and emission systems; weather strips; trim; moldings; bright metal; chrome; upholstery and carpet; paint; outside ornamentation; bumpers; body sheet metal and panels; tires; wheels/rims; GPS navigation systems; phone systems and TV/video/entertainment systems.

Maintenance services and parts described in your vehicle's owner's manual as supplied by the manufacturer. (i.e. oil changes, tune-ups, brake pads, belts, hoses and spark plugs)

Hey, we just got an extended warranty for our 2000 S430. Call up Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (800) 655-3535 and she should be able to give you a great deal. I'm not sure if you might be treated differently since you still have the original warranty left...but we got a Chrysler warranty rewritten to include MBs. $3,590 with $100 deductible (nothing lower available on my car; you might be able to get lower tho). Would probably be cheaper on your car too, since it's 2 years newer and has about 30k less miles.

It does NOT cover: maintainance, services, items used in services, wear items like manual clutches, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, belts, glass or plastic lenses, body and paint items including soft trim, snow plows, winches, and trailor hitches. I think this is a pretty good/reasonable list of exclusions. All the other warranty companies would NOT cover the COMMAND or a bunch of other electronics, and that model car is prone to COMMAND and Airmatic failure.

I emailed Lisa this week and she hasn't replied! I also called her and left her a voice message and return call. Was it hard getting in touch with her?

Thanks!

Yea, messages don't seem to work too well. You just have to catch her at the right time while she's not on the phone. I think the direct line to her is 530-230-3154. I think she gets in at 10:00PST/1:00EST and leaves at 7:00PM PST, so you usually have up until 10 at night to get through.
